My goal for this post is to convince you that everyone can enjoy the outdoors and go camping. I specifically want to prove that your menu restrictions should not keep you from camping. Some of my favorite outdoor travel buddies are gluten free, and they camp frequently.
I know there are tons of dietary restrictions out there. I am most familiar and have experience with gluten free diets. So I am going to share some gluten free meals that are easy to prepare while camping. If you have other dietary restrictions, I hope that while you might not be able to use my meal examples, you will be inspired to find some that work for you.
Let's open with my all time favorite campfire meal. Tin foil dinners. While the traditional tin foil dinner consists of hamburger meat, potatoes, carrots and onions, there are several flavor combinations to choose from. It really is as simple as chopping up your ingredients, wrapping them in tin foil and cooking them over the campfire for around 15 minutes (depending on the quantity of ingredients). Since most of the ingredients are fruits and vegetables there aren't many diets that won't allow you to have tin foil dinners.

Another gluten free meal is campfire tacos with corn tortillas. You can add several ingredients to tacos including veggies. If you are looking for another corn tortilla friendly meal, look no further, fajitas.
If you are looking at these menus and thinking "that is too much work", no problem. Most chili is gluten free. Pop a can of your favorite chili in a fire proof container and put it in the fire to warm it up. Throw some sour cream, corn or whatever else your into on top and be good to go.
Another one of my favorites is Dutch Oven Potatoes. If you have the neccesary equipment these are a breeze to make. They are also good enough to be a stand alone meal.
I am definitely not a nutritionist, but the point is there a tons of easy options for people with dietary restrictions that want to go camping. You might have to do a little research, but the fresh air will be well worth it.
